Lioncourt has acquired a significant stake in the Beechfield Nursing Home Group; one of the largest nursing home groups in the country.
Lioncourt point to “a structural deficit of top-quality nursing homes in the greater Dublin area” and describe this latest investment as a “long-term strategic initiative”.
With the backing of Lioncourt, Beechfield plans to expand its portfolio through further development and the acquisition of additional nursing homes. The group already operates c. 200 beds across three nursing homes in Shankill, Glenageary and Clontarf.
According to the property agent CBRE, Ireland can expect a shortfall of c. 8,000 long-term nursing home beds by 2021.
Lioncourt believe this investment will complement other assets in their diverse portfolio which includes: Valeo Foods (Ireland’s leading ambient food producer), Lioncourt Homes (a UK house builder), Kinlay Group (a UK and Irish focussed travel and education business) and Elysian Collection (a luxury ski accommodation business in Switzerland).
